- In Adobe Illustrator, layers are actually named groups
- In Adobe Illustrator 10 an extra group with no content is created at the top of the layer list.
This can be safely deleted.
- Get the Free vector graphic editing software "Inkscape" here Inkscape download
- Inkscape users be aware that performance is much slower than with Adobe Illustrator
- To import into Inkscape with the correct page dimensions, create a new document, go
to document properties and set the page size to A0 and the orientation, landscape or portrait,
accordingly. Import the SVG into the new document. When the import is complete press the "Fit
Page to Selection" button. Then save the document out to another location.
- Other vector drawing programs supporting the full SVG 1.1 specification may also correctly handle our maps. Note that Corel Draw is known not to work with these files.
